i5K Comments for Pachypsylla venusta
Pachypsylla venusta is a model for the study of host-symbiont metabolic interactions and extreme genome reduction in intracellular bacteria. Also, its gall-forming life history makes it valuable for comparison to other nominated non-galling psyllids. The species is being studied in the laboratory of Nancy Moran at Yale University, which could provide a source for DNA as well as transcriptome data to aid in genome annotation efforts.
